Should I buy some currency and hold it for a while? What else can I do financially while here?

Forget the Dinar. There are currently at least 600 people on eBay trying to sell dinars. No one is buying at a price that makes it a good investment. Keep you money in US dlollars. When I was in the service and overseas, the base bank gave us 10% interest on savings accounts. Your base should have something like that. If not, sent your money back to the world and invest with a mutual fund family like T. Rowe Price or Vanguard.

Use it as toiletpaper? I am in Iraq too and I don’t understand why our finance office will only distribute dinar (NO US dollars) when only one place on the COB accepts it. It’s a big scam if you ask me. Someone is getting rich off of this eagle cash card so they are forcing it’s use. I refused to get it and will not get it.
