I bought 11 million Iraqi Dinar for $11,000 USD, I’ve been told recently that the Value of Dinar will increase because of the release of the sanctions on the Dinar…and it could rise to a 3=1 Ratio to the USD…I’ve never worked a day in my life and I am only 16 years old…does this seem like a smart investment…also the company I purchased the Dinar from is reliable and will purchase the Dinar back if I wish to sell it back to them, and I will only loose 10% of the $11,000.
Yes…But Iraq is sitting on the worlds second largest oil deposit, and the sanctions have been lifted so put one and one together…also before the War on Iraq there was a 3.22=1 USD ratio. So there is the possibility…and I’m willing to risk it, and if this does work out I will be laughing my way to the bank, then Cali.

I own some Iraqi dinar notes. I have had them for 6 months. If they should increase in value and I cash them in for a considerable profit will the gain be a capital gain tax or regular income tax? I bought them for cash and will get cash on the selling them. What would be the percent of capital gain tax owed?

Tim asked:
My brother gave me 1,635,000 in Iraqi Dinars and I want to convert them to US Dollars tomorrow. Can I take them to my local SunTrust branch near Washington, DC and deposit them into my account? How does it work and is there a fee? I know nothing about currency exchange – never even left the country before. I’ve been trying to find the answer to this question all night, so if anyone knows for sure please help! I really could use the extra cash right now!
Turns out I had to go to a money exchange place downtown and got a rate of 1439.89/1 which wasn’t too far off the official rate.
