My father, who is retired from the Air Force, was deployed to Iraq in 2003. Once he returned he gave me two paper monies with Saddam Hussein on them & they are 250 Dinars. He told me then that they were only worth about $2.50 USD (best I recall). I heard that 03 or 04 was the last year Saddam’s face was on Iraq’s money & since he is now dead, I would think it would be worth more. I tried to convert the currency online but couldn’t figure it out. I also tried researching it & couldn’t find what I’m looking for. So I’m wondering if anyone knows what it could be worth & if it is indeed worth more with him on it. I would (possibly) like to sell one of them if it’s worth a lot & if not maybe invest them somehow? Or I may just hold onto them for awhile longer. Thanks for any helpful answers.

My mom has Iraqi currency [dinar] that she wants to cash in for dollars. We have been to several banks already, and no luck. Where can we cash in the Iraqi currency for American dollars? By the way, we live in Los Angeles County, California. Please help, 10 points best answer!

After the allied invasion of Iraq in 2003, Filipino professional and non- professional skilled workers, investors and traders came home with their IQD (not saddam hussein) earnings. If totally consolidated, ready for transaction could sum up to HUNDRED OF BILLIONS IQDs. Holder’s stocks are just being kept in their homes, safe houses and bank vaults for safekeeping. The Central Bank of the Phils will grant permit to local banks to transact IQD soon but holders can’t wait any longer!
