My recruiter told me 6 months for Marines; army goes for at least a year or more. Also said that the Air force usually stay in iraq, leaves, and go back, leaves, comeback and so on. Also said that the Navy stays there for a while since they’re stuck in a ship. Sounds like bull crap?

I hear that quadband phones should work. I have a quadband phone from AT&T. I am aware that prices will be higher, though. If I get an international roaming plan with that phone should that work out? Or could I atleast use a sim-card from Iraq? Please respond with helpful information.

WASHINGTON — Four and a half years after the nation’s top military leaders saluted and fell in behind President Bush ‘s pre-emptive invasion of Iraq , their replacements are beginning to question the mission and sound alarms about the toll the war is taking on the Army and the Marine Corps. All military people are starting to second guess President Bush. 70% of Americans are now against the Iraq war.
Is this the end of the Iraq war?

I know that as of July 2010, there are 81,000 troops in Iraq and 87,000 in Afghanistan. I’m looking for the total number of unique individuals who have seen duty in either theater since the wars began.

In the end, I’d like to compare that number to the total US population to see what percentage of the general population are Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.

It was the deadliest attack in the capital city in almost five months. The United States Marines stated they wanted to stay in the back ground.
